International Travel Requirements During the COVID-19 Pandemic

International Travel

International travel is changing on a day-to-day basis as countries shift their methods to contain and mitigate the COVID-19 global pandemic. While some countries continue to restrict travel, others have relaxed their guidelines in favor of stringent testing requirements for entry. Global Air Charters is on alert 24/7 to ensure your travels are on schedule and all documents you may need are in hand, saving you time.

New Regulations on International Travel into the United States

The United States has recently adopted new guidelines for entry following travel outside its borders. The new regulations are now in effect to ensure passenger and crew safety. Endorsed by the Centers for Disease Control (42 CFR 71.20), this new order requires all passengers traveling by air to the United States from a foreign country to have documentation of a negative COVID-19 test or recovery from the virus. The United States requires this documentation for all passengers over the age of 2 years. Flight crews must review each passenger’s documents prior to departure for the United States. Global Air Charters has a commitment to keeping its passengers and crew safe by following all required regulations.

One of the documentation options is to provide a negative COVID-19 test result.  The test must be either a standard PCR or a rapid Antigen test from a certified test source. Additionally, the test must be taken within three calendar days prior to departure to the United States. One more requirement of the documentation is that the name and date of birth on the test result must match the passenger’s passport and other travel documents. Many hotels and resorts are now including this testing in their vacation packages.

Recovery Documentation

Another option is to provide a recovery document. A traveler may provide documentation of a positive viral test taken within the three months before departure, in addition to a letter of recovery signed by a licensed doctor. The letter must be on official letterhead with the signator’s name and contact information.  Passengers must have met the full isolation requirements for consideration to travel into the United States. Finally, as with the negative test results, the name and birth date on the documents must match the passenger’s passport and other travel documentation.GAC Covid-19 Masks international travel
