Where did you grow up?
I was born and raised in Oregon.
What education and certifications do you hold?
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Exercise Science specializing in nutrition, and I am a certified interior designer. I received my FA training from SkyAngels and have done recurrent with FlightSafety.
What makes GAC stand apart from other private charters?
The “family” feel and its open and transparent communication.
What is your favorite thing about working for GAC?
I am new to GAC, but I genuinely enjoy the crews and the ability to manage travel, meals, and hotels on my own.
What do you enjoy most about your position?
I absolutely love creating a special atmosphere and unique dishes and surprising my guests with over-the-top service!
When did you first realize you wanted to be a cabin attendant?
I have had the good fortune of traveling extensively throughout my life and thought I would enjoy being a cabin attendant after my kids left home. I happened upon a posting for the position and thought, “Yes! That is more my style!” My kids had left for college, I was recently divorced, and it was the perfect timing.
What is your favorite occasion to celebrate while flying?
I absolutely love birthdays! Honoring and spoiling someone on their birthday is so much fun.
In your opinion, what makes a good cabin attendant?
The attention to detail and knowing what your guests want before they even realize they want it. Going the extra mile with the best service.
What was your most memorable moment with GAC?
Being new, I would have to say my “initiation night” in Miami with David Avila, Espen, and Rachel! We laughed, danced, sang, and had the best time!
What do you like to do when you aren’t flying?
I love being outdoors and active. I hike, ski (snow and water), mountain bike, fly fish, run, play pickleball, go paddleboarding and spend as much time as I can with my kids.
What is your favorite travel destination?
I would have to say southern France and Italy. They are so beautiful, with a leisurely pace and wonderful little villages. I try to get outside and go exploring wherever I land. Every city, town and village has beauty. I usually go for a run or a long walk to check out the area. I also try to find postcards at every location and send them to my kids, nieces and nephews, and grandfather. They have loved getting them and have said they feel closer to me knowing where I have been.
We’re glad to have you on the team, Alyson Richards!
