Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Kennett, Missouri, known for being the hometown of Sheryl Crow!

What education and certifications do you hold?

I have a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. I also hold Airline Transport Pilot, CFII, AGI, FAA Flight Attendant, EMB145, BE400, and coming soon in 2022 GIV type rating.

What makes GAC stand apart from other private charters?

GAC delivers a personal touch even with the recent growth of the company.

What is your favorite thing about working for GAC?

I’m sure it has been said before, but my coworkers. GAC does an exceptional job at hiring a diverse group of pilots.

What motivates you to do the best on the job?

I enjoy upholding the great safety record GAC has so we can continue to grow!

What is one specific moment that made you realize why you do what you do?

Any time I get to talk about airplanes and how they work with kids, it really is rewarding. I once was the kid standing at the cockpit door just hoping the pilot would ask me to come in the flight deck and take a look (I still recall my first was a DC9).

In your opinion, what makes a good pilot?

One that values safety as their number one priority coupled with superior technical skills. In addition, it is important to be able to adapt to changes to provide the best service for customers.

What was the most fun you’ve experienced with GAC?

Any time I get to do island flying in the Bahamas it is a fun day. The breathtaking views and landing at small airports are a blast.

What do you enjoy most about your position?

Interacting with passengers and especially our four-legged passengers!

What is your favorite plane to fly?

A Beechcraft Baron 58 is my top pick.

What is a memory you will never forget that was created while flying with GAC?

I was furloughed at an airline and working at an FBO in St. Petersburg, FL, and met a GAC flight crew. We had the opportunity to talk and that eventually led the crew to recommend me for the job I now have. So the story actually starts before I flew for the company!

What do you like to do when you aren’t flying?

Going to the beach and playing golf. Just don’t ask me about my handicap.

What is your favorite travel destination? Why?

Europe is definitely my favorite. I love the feeling of being in a foreign place.

We are glad to have Hampton Deck on the team!
