GAC pilot Olivier Besoux grew up in France and loves traveling back to Provence and the French islands in the Caribbean. Read on to meet Olivier!

Where did you grow up?

France, south of Aix-en-Provence. I moved to the U.S. when I was 25 and attended pilot training in Florida.

What education and certificates do you hold?

I graduated from a university in France with a math and physics degree. I hold an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with type ratings for the GIV, GV, and G550.

What makes GAC stand apart from other private charters?

Everyone here is friendly and helpful. It’s clear they care about their people here—the company has a family feel.

What do you enjoy most about your position?

I love to fly in corporate aviation. I’ve wanted to be a pilot ever since watching “Black Sheep Squadron” as a child.

In your opinion, what makes a good pilot?

A professional pilot should be a lifetime student. There’s always more to learn and ways to sharpen your craft.

What motivates you to do the best on the job?

Overcoming challenges.

What do you like to do when you aren’t flying?

I like to run, play tennis and ping pong, and work in my garden.

What is your favorite travel destination? Why?

The south of France. I also like flying to the Caribbean — Saint Martin and Guadeloupe.

What is your favorite plane to fly?

I love flying the Gulfstream G550. It’s the best aircraft—very reliable, with good avionics.
