GAC Acquires CAVU

Charter Firm Expands Maintenance Operations in Northeast U.S.

Global Air Charters is proud to announce the acquisition of CAVU Aircraft Maintenance and Avionics, LLC, a Part 145 Repair Station in Northeast Pennsylvania.

CAVU is based at Hazleton Regional Airport (KHZL), where Global Air Charters maintains a hangar and the two companies have enjoyed a close working relationship. The acquisition process began in October 2022.

The move is part of GAC’s broader strategy to grow its mechanical division, Global Maintenance (GMX), placing safety and reliability further at the heart of its operations.

“From day one, CAVU impressed us with their knowledge, professionalism, and commitment to the highest safety standards. We’re looking forward to them expanding our maintenance capabilities as a company,” says GAC chief executive Michael Vanacore-Netz.

“We’re also excited to deepen our corporate presence in the Hazleton area,” adds Vanacore-Netz. “The city has always been extremely helpful and welcoming to GAC. As a native of Northeast Pennsylvania, I’m thrilled to continue growing our operations there.”

GAC has begun work with the FAA to formalize the transfer and intends to have the facility fully operational by Q4 of 2023. The company plans to supply OEM parts and maintenance services for Gulfstream, Bombardier, Dassault, Cessna, Embraer, and other aircraft.

“We at GAC/GMX are very excited about the acquisition,” says Richard Barlow, GAC/GMX director of maintenance. “As we expand our presence, it’s incredibly important to grow our qualifications. Putting the maintenance talent under one hat and offering it outside of our network is a testimony to the hard work and experience that the CAVU team brings to the table.”
