In his role as CEO, Todd oversees all staff and business operations at GAC. He acts as a resource to his corporate officers and other staff, providing top-level guidance and acting as a sounding board for their ideas. He is especially close to the financial side of the business, using his extensive experience to ensure that GAC continues to be financially successful and grow.
“It’s been my top priority to make Global Air Charters a good place to work,” says Todd. “I think we’ve achieved that. We get a lot of positive feedback from customers who deal with our pilots, crew and other employees and there’s a good reason for that—our employees are happy with GAC and show it to our customers. I appreciate everyone’s dedication to the company and look forward to continuing to grow the company and to grow it with good people.”
In addition to being the CEO at GAC, Todd is the CEO of SVL, one of the Midwest’s largest commercial heating, ventilating, air-conditioning (HVAC) and cleanroom equipment dealers. He has worked there since 1987, following in his father’s footsteps, who was a founder of the company. Todd has been a managing partner for more than a decade and CEO since 2016. Under his leadership, the company has become one of the Midwest’s largest commercial heating, ventilating, air-conditioning (HVAC) and cleanroom equipment dealers, while still maintaining the family business values that have become the hallmark of both SVL and GAC.
Today, Todd is a private pilot who owns several aircraft, but it’s not surprising that his passion for aviation also comes from a family connection. “When I was a kid, my dad got his pilot’s license and his business partner was a pilot,” recalls Todd. “That’s what first exposed me to aviation. I really took to it and it led me to getting my pilot’s license at age 30. That was a big achievement for me, and it was a big challenge, but a lot of fun.”
Todd holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Arizona and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. He currently lives in North Oaks, Minnesota.
