Where did you grow up?
Saint Croix Falls, Wisconsin.
What education and certifications do you hold?
I have a Bachelor of Arts in social science, a Commerical Multi-Engine License (CMEL), and a Certified Flight Instructor – Instrument (CFII).
When did you first realize you wanted to be a pilot?
As long as I can remember, the best part of family vacations was going to the airport.
What is your favorite occasion to celebrate while flying?
First-time flights!
In your opinion, what makes a good pilot?
Being a team player with a can-do attitude and a good communicator who can put their ego aside to complete the mission safely.
What do you like to do when you aren’t flying?
Recreational flying, mountain biking, kayaking, and taking walks with my wife and dog.
What is your favorite travel destination?
Anywhere new!
What motivates you to do the best on the job?
Surrounding myself with people who want to be their best every day. In aviation, every flight deserves your best effort.
What is your favorite plane to fly?
Whichever airplane I’m flying at the moment… but probably the American Champion Champ.
